Tollywood- No More A Dream Destination

There was a time when the cine industry was meant to be a land of dreams and only those with imagination and talent made it big. Above that, it was the passion for the art of film making which drew some of the finest icons. Of course, there is always the monetary aspect involved in it but over the years, the focus has become more towards the economics and budgets than anything else. So today, cinema is all about business and numbers, nothing more.

As a result, the days of glory for cinema is over and it has become quite discouraging. Lately, most of the films have tasted flops and there is no money flow like before. Strict bargaining has been happening in terms of remunerations, film budgets etc and stringent measures are now being implemented when it comes to fund flow. While there could be some leverages at the top level, most of the business happens in the mid level and the impact is large on them.

Earlier, there was a lot of difference between cine folks and general public in terms of lifestyle or economic status but now it has become more or less same or sometimes the non-film folks are in an even better condition. The competition has increased to a large extent and it must be said that there are few hidden secrets that one has to comply with if they are looking for a career. Struggle for existence, having the right kind of connections, making use of the available opportunities has become the name of the game and it is no longer a cake walk.

Though the Tollywood circuit has expanded over the recent past, it has also brought about some pressure filled environment. So those who arrive here with dreams must realize that dreams are dreams and reality is reality.
