Reel Buzz: Rana's Smart Website!!

Daggubati Rana is one lad who is not only a budding star but also has a sharp sense of business acumen. Given the inherent qualities from his dad and grandpa, this tall hunk sure seems to be going the right way. The reason we say this is due to the marketing that Rana is doing of himself in a different style.

While most of the stars are busy tweeting or giving interviews, Rana has taken the web route. He has created an online portfolio of his wherein he has been feeding his website with his film promos, videos and other key material that project him in the right light. However, our man has been smart to take few precautions.

Stuff like Rana’s link up with the Bengali bombshell Bipasha Basu or his replacing Abhishek Bachchan in Ramgopal Varma’s new movie ‘Department’ has not been mentioned. Meanwhile, Rana quips that he will not make Mumbai his base. Not because he may not get opportunities but he is unable to stand the traffic tantrums. Well, that’s Rana for you folks.

'Shor' Hero Sundeep Kishan Beats Rana?

Speaking about Tollywood heroes making their mark in Bollywood among the current generation, two names top the list. They are Daggubati Rana and Sundeep Kishan of ‘Snehageetham’ ‘Prasthanam’ fame. Now, many are curious to see who among the two can score better and make their presence felt in the big Bollywood circuit.

A noted cine intellectual said “While Rana has got a strong backdrop, Sundeep has gone solo without much pull into Bollywood. Talent wise, both are on par but looks-wise Rana will score better than Sundeep. However, performance-wise who will score is the crucial aspect.”

As such, Rana has already arrived with his debut ‘Dum Maro Dum’ and made his scores but Sundeep’s film ‘Shor In The City’ is arriving on 28th so the real outcome will be known once that arrives. Inside talk is that Sundeep has given a riveting performance, let us see what happens…

Rana Goes Beyond Nagarjuna

Rana Daggubati, the hot sensation of Bollywood with the film 'Dum Maro Dum', also bagged the lead role in RGV's 'Department'. He is well known with his gossips and alleged link ups with heroines right from Priya Anand, Ileana, Shriya and Bipasha Basu. He is just 2 movie old but enjoyed huge attention on par with any leading Bollywood hero all these years.

He is replacing Nagarjuna as a media-playboy and we have to see if he maintains long term relation with any heroine like Nag carrying with Tabu and Anushka.

So far all the links with Rana have been temporary.

Superstar showers praises on Rana

Superstar showers praises on RanaMacho man Rana Daggubati has many reasons to rejoice after the release of much awaited 'Dum Maaro Dum'.

The young actor is in a celebration mood after receiving an SMS from Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan praising his good work.

"Amitabh was one of the first people to send an SMS after watching the special screening of DMD. He had said, 'You have done a great job and no one will say that it is your first movie. Keep up the good work'. I was really touched by this gesture, coming from the undisputed king of Bollywood, I consider this my most prized possession," said Rana.

Trade analysts predict this film to do exceedingly well in this summer season.

"Technically, it is a superb film. It will reaches out to a metro audience in a big way. DMD that was riding a huge buzz is striking a chord with the youth across the metros and in the small centres as well. Shot in Goa, the film that has an ensemble cast of Abhishek, Bipasha Basu, South hottie RaNa Daggubati and Prateik; and Deepika Padukone in a sizzling title track is one of the big ticket attractions this IPL season," says a trade analyst.

Will Rana Score Big With NNR Than DMD?

Whenever a celebrity kid is making his foray, the expectations are large and the hype is more than normal. Right now, that is the case with Daggubati Rana. Though he made his debut with a sober political thriller like ‘Leader’, many in the cine circuit say his current films are the real litmus test for this towering hunk.

Apparently, Rana made his debut in Bollywood with the latest release ‘Dum Maro Dum’ and reports are arriving positive on his looks and screen presence. In the home ground, the curiosity is more on his new movie ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ considering the fact that it is directed by a pure masala entertainer Puri Jagannadh.

As such, the trailers of ‘NNR’ show Rana gave an energetic performance and some found his screen chemistry with Ileana to be a highlight. But in the Bollywood debut, there were other established stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu etc. Here, it is going to be whole and sole Rana show so the focus will be more on how he will shoulder the film. This should be interesting.

Ileana Admits Rana's Love

Generally heroines condemn any love gossips between them and heroes. They say 'we are just friends', but move very closely and cozily with each other. But Ileana seems to be an exception from that lot.

She said earlier that Shakti would be a super flop, without any hesitation. The result is seen. Now she is saying that Rana has a special connection with her and her mother and hence helping them a lot.

She said that Rana supporting her family a lot by investing in boutique business that she started recently. Ileana thus confirmed the financial aid talk that is in spread all these days. She concluded stating that she is indebted to Rana for ever.

Can Rana Beat Chiranjeevi?

The time has come for another star from the south to take the litmus test in the north. He is Daggubati Rana and unlike his predecessors like Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan who proved their mettle in the south and went north, Rana is foraying with just one film under his belt. So now, the big question is- can Rana beat the likes of Chiranjeevi?

One can recall how Chiru attempted for a footing in Bollywood with films like ‘Pratibandh’ ‘Aaj Ka Goondaraj’. Now, Rana is going there with his ‘Dum Maro Dum’. However, the cine pundits say that despite having immense dance talent and superstar aura Chiru couldn’t do anything in Bollywood.

A noted analyst said “As for Rana, he doesn’t even have the dance talent like Chiranjeevi or a good number of hits to create an impact. But he is already feeling like Bollywood hero. Well, it is better he holds his horses and turn back the wheel of time to see how his seniors fared. If he is able to make a consistent success graph in Bollywood, it would call for nothing less than a miracle.”

Ileana's 'Double' Game With Rana!!!

The sexy starlet Ileana has always been adored for her hips and beautiful looks but now the time has come to have a different side of her. Sources reveal that Ileana is all set to show a two-face in her upcoming movie ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ wherein she is pairing up with Daggubati Rana.

Buzz is that Ileana would be seen in two roles which are completely opposite to each other in the film. Inside talk is that one will get to see the performer inside Ileana and the versatility she possesses. This is directed by Puri Jagannadh and the story is about a professional killer (Rana) and his lady love (Ileana).

The release date is set for April 29th and as much as Ileana’s admirers want to see the glamour side of her, this will be a new taste for them from this sexy hip beauty. Getting a double dose from her would be an added bonus for her fans.

Reel Buzz: Rana's Villainy Acts

Convention has been that star kids and celebrity kids from film families end up as heroes only. However, what they fail to realize is that the potential to score more and prove as a performer comes by doing the roles of a villain. The reason for this discussion in film nagar was to offer few inputs to Daggubati Rana.

A senior cine member said “As such, Rana has been showing zeal in proving his presence in other circuits. If that is his plan then he must look at taking up roles with negative shades as they are in great demand. See how the graphs of Gopichand, Prakashraj have changed. Moreover, it is hard for the non-Telugu audience to accept a person from other region as their hero. But they would love to welcome a villain. So, Rana should focus more on such roles.”

Another person revealed “It is routine and boring to see kids with talent following the same path and trying to prove as a hero only. Rana can shine as big star with proven talent if he takes up villainy roles. For his personality and family backing, this should be the best path for his career.” Hope Rana is reading this…

Koel Chats With Rana – Dum Maro Dum

Rana:I can't afford to buy an IPL team

I can't afford to buy an IPL team: Telugu Hero
When internal cine sources estimate Daggubati family as one of the richest and most calculated, it is Rana who feels the other way. The entrepreneur who turned to an actor has diversified interests in various fields. Initially, Rana floated a company of his own related to films but sold it only to get in front of camera. Now he is far more matured trying to explore a deep artist in him.

"I was always attached and involved with films. Presently I am concentrating on acting. In future I might get into technical aspects of film making," said Rana sharing his passion for movies and movie making.

Besides this, Rana is a die hard cricket lover like his babai Venkatesh. Rana played for Hyderabad Cricket league in college days. The young hero also claims that he was the  fastest bowler of the team. Extending his interest, Rana has a plan to buy an IPL Team but grins that he can't afford. "I would love to buy an IPL team, but I can't afford one," he quotes.

Is Suresh Babu hearing this?

Ileana Insults NTR And Rana!!!

Having worked with NTR in ‘Rakhi’ and ‘Shakti’ and pairing up with Rana for the first time in ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’, the latest discussion making rounds is that Ileana has insulted both of them terribly. That too, while taking part in the promotion event of ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’.

Apparently, Ileana was asked who her favorite hero is and she replied ‘Ravi Teja’. Not stopping at that, she added “He is my all time favorite hero”. By saying this, she has insulted all the heroes that she worked with. Ileana has paired up with Ravi Teja in the super flop film ‘Khatarnak’ followed by the super hit ‘Kick’. The only two heroes to repeat Ileana are Ravi Teja and NTR.

In that situation, by declaring Ravi Teja as her all-time favorite hero, Ileana has hurt the egos of all the other heroes. However, since she has lifted the spirits of Ravi Teja in the sky with this statement, the chances of her getting a third project with Ravi Teja looks sure.

MJ Fans Firing Rana's Film!!!

It appears that Daggubati Rana seems to have treaded into the path of controversy for every film of his. While he is busy hogging headlines for his link up with co-star Bipasha for the Hindi film ‘Dum Maro Dum’, here is something else happening with his Telugu film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’. This time, it has to do with the audio of the film.

Apparently, fans of the legend Michael Jackson are breathing fire on Rana. The reason for that is one of the songs in his film which goes Padthinammo…. Apparently, this is a complete lift from MJ’s Leave Me Alone… from his album ‘Bad’. This rip off has shocked MJ fans. The music is composed by the duo of Vishwa and Rahman. It is heard that the makers approached Bappil Lahiri who declined and then went to Vishal-Shekar but even that didn’t work.

Finally, it came to the duo of Vishwa and Rahman. Meanwhile, the song has caused an outrage and even Madhura Sreedhar, who heads the audio label of the film stated that copying the MJ number was not called for. Finally, even Vishwa who has supposedly ‘composed’ the song admitted to sources about the ‘similarity’. However, he is covering it by saying a lot of alteration has been made and they used ‘Mohana’ ragam and ‘Madhyamavati’ beats.

The final touch is, while the MJ fans are yet to recover from the shock, another number Paapam Punyam is reportedly inspired from Scottish singer K T Tunstall’s Black Horse And The Cherry Tree.

Rana's Lady Avoids Eye Contact With Ileana

Cat fights and cold wars are common in any cine circuit and as such, it is not very high in Tollywood. However, it is heard that something like that seems to be on between the two top league heroines- Richa Gangopadhyay and Ileana. Well, here are few details about this riff- raff.

Richa came all the way from Mumbai to be part of ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ audio release function on a special invite, as per sources. However, those who were present at the function revealed that she didn’t even greet Ileana properly. This began to bring in many questions as to why there has to be a scuffle between her and Ileana.

A cine member who takes active part in film activities revealed “Richa has this special ‘thing’ with Rana and she wanted Rana to fall in her trap. But even before her spell could work, Ileana entered the scene and Rana drifted in her direction. Now, Richa is feeling a bit miffed about that.” Wonder what Rana has to say to this…

Rana leaks Dum Maaro Dum story

Rana leaks Dum Maaro Dum story
Daggubati Rana who is making debut in Bollywood with the much anticipated 'Dum Maaro Dum' is very excited about the film.

"I don't think I'll ever play a Goan musician in a Telugu or a Tamil film and was very excited with the vibe of the entire film," says Rana.

The actor reveals the story of 'Dum Maaro Dum', which has Goa in it's backdrop.

"The story is set in Goa. Goa is classically called paradise on earth but the land has some snakes that spoil the paradise. My character is Joachim (Joki) Fernandes, a Goan musician, who is very susegad (chilled) in Goan lingo. He knows the good, the bad and the ugly of Goa but never takes to any of those things. He lives a happy life with Zoe (Bipasha Basu) until a time where the snakes get to him and he loses things dear to him. That's when he starts reacting and along with ACP Vishnu Kamath (Abhishek Bachchan), sets on this journey to get paradise back," said Rana.

The Daggubati successor says his look in all the three films he has done has no resemblance to each other.

"In the office, we have these posters of my films - Leader, Dum Maaro Dum and Nenu Naa Rakshasi. It looks like three different people in the posters - I'm a politician in 'Leader', a musician in 'Dum Maaro Dum' and a professional killer with a gun in 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi'," says the star.
