Secrecy about Baba's health angers kin

Puttaparthi: If sources are to be believed, family members of Sri Satya Saibaba were allowed to visit him in the hospital only on April 2 though he was admitted to the super speciality hospital on March 28 in a serious condition.
While Saibaba’s personal attendant and caretaker Satyajit, an MBA graduate, was allowed by the all-powerful Satya Sai Central Trust, the family members were not allowed to see the ailing Baba.
After kicking up a big furore, a couple of family members were allowed to see him in the ICU from a distance.
The kin blame trust secretary K Chakravarthi and member S V Giri for neglecting the health of Saibaba. Sravan, Saibaba’s nephew, said he saw his uncle open eyes briefly when he went to see him.
Sources said the family members and relatives were livid with the trust for keeping them in dark over Saibaba’s health condition. “Why is it that they are maintaining secrecy over his health. Lakhs of devotees and immediate kith and kin are worried,” a relative said. It is learnt that Saibaba used to take food cooked by his younger brother Janakiram’s wife.
